What happens during a Connected Operations Brief?

A Connected Operations Brief turns a broad operating concern into a bounded problem definition, a view of the relevant operating system, and a decision about a sensible first project.

A Connected Operations Brief turns a broad operating concern into a bounded problem definition, a view of the relevant operating system, and a decision about a sensible first project.

The work

The brief examines leadership intent, decisions, knowledge, workflows, information, tools, ownership, and human judgment around the concern. It identifies constraints, dependencies, evidence gaps, and the smallest responsible next move.

Alan Weiss’s The Consulting Bible emphasizes agreement on objectives, measures of success, and value before a proposal. The BotGuide interpretation adds an operating-system view: scope should follow a well-stated problem, not a prematurely selected tool.

The decision

The result is a shared basis for deciding whether to proceed, pause, gather more evidence, or choose a different priority. It is not an implementation project, software build, guarantee, or substitute for legal, tax, valuation, or transaction advice.
